Bernardus is a singer and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Born in Los Angels with origins from Lincoln, Nebraska, Bernardus embodies the genres of Americana and Country. Incorporating singer/songwriter lyrics with country licks and beats, Bernardus’ music ranges from barn-burner to heart felt. Since the creation of the band in 2015 and the successful release of their debut Ep in 2016, Bernardus and his musicians have toured relentlessly across the country. His band is made up of brother Jake Kramer (fiddle, mandolin, keys and guitars), Adam Kovar (Drums and backing vocals), Graham Lyons (lead electric guitar and backing vocals) and Matt Cornell (bass). Together their music has reached 22 states and 250 plus shows in two short years. 2018 holds excitement with a full length album set to release in April. In addition to singing and songwriting, Bernardus means taking risks and following a dream. After world war II, Bernardus SR. left his hometown of Tillburg in the Netherlands to follow a dream; the American dream. Upon landing in Ellis Island, Bernardus had nothing and barely a dime in his pockets. When he died, he was a successful teacher and professor with a master’s degree. He was father to 3 and grandfather to 7. To his first born he passed his name which continued to his grandson. Bernardus Sr. had risked it all and accomplished what he set out to do. This determination and spirit was passed down to his grandson in the form of music.
Bernardus (the singer/songwriter) has embodied the mantra of taking risks to follow his dream. Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska, the songwriter had always longed for more than a simple life. Playing music at a young age sparked the desire for greatness. After playing in multiple bands, leading worship at his church and many many hour of lessons, Bernardus began writing his own music in 2014. By the end of 2016 he had created a band, recorded an Ep with producer Ryan Confer and toured across the country playing in nearly 28 states and almost 200 shows. It did not take long for this artist to take the next step and head south to music city. In Nashville, Bernardus and his band recorded their 2018 album with producer Christian Hale (mixed by Ryan Confer). This album is set to release in spring 2018 with singles set to release before then.
Bernardus will hit the road in the summer of 2018. To find a show near you, subscribe to their email list and be notified when tour dates are released.
